Example Rotating Programs

 

Napi Tales 

Partnership with Crowsnest Community Library program in partnership with Aboriginal Youth at Napi with Blackfoot themed activities and crafts.  Each week we  explore a piece of the culture with the families sharing oral stories and follow up with a hands on activity for the families to participate in (making/playing traditional games, making traditional dolls, learning about traditional parenting). Families with children 0-12.

Magic Carpet Ride

Family literacy program for parents and their preschool children. Families learn together in sessions that include stories, songs, play and learning and activity centres. The program provides information and tips for parents to help prepare their children for school. Children enjoy learning to love books and reading. Parents are involved in helping their children learn, both in the program and at home. Families with children 0-6

Music Monday

This  parent and child program with singing, dancing, and playing instruments with a chance to encourage and practice a wide variety of abilities such as gross and fine motor skills, turn-taking, social skills, and active listening. In class, we also share tips and ideas for using music throughout the week. Families with children 2-6

Soup for the Soul/Nobody's Perfect

A  parent guided Nobody's Perfect workshop running 2 hours each week with childcare. Also combined it with a nutrition component where we cooked a healthy soup together to eat and sent supplies home with the families to make the soup with their own families. Families with children 0-6

Laugh and Learn Together

A social group for parents of 0-18 month old children . Come and hang out for a coffee, meet new parents and chat while watching your little one grow.

Loose Parts

A drop in program kids and parents are exposed to materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways.Imagination, creativity, curiosity, desire, and need are the motivation of loose parts. Families with children 0-6
